National Specialty Trophies
In 2018, the Club retired its perpetual trophies mostly through an on-line auction which raised funds for the Junior Handling fund and saw trophies returning to their donors in memory of and tribute to some of the Club’s remarkable Cardigans.

BEST OF BREED: “Taxi” was a sire who strongly influenced the breed in Canada, and had numerous winning offspring in the United States. This trophy has been won three times by the same dog. It was rebuilt after the 1995 winner filled the last original name plaque. | |
BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX: “Dwynnie” and Taxi produced at least two litters together and their offspring included American specialty winners and champions in several countries. | |
BEST OF WINNERS: “Moonie’s” dam was a daughter of Taxi & Dwyn. She was exported to California, Moonie was a puppy from her first litter who came home to Canada. | |
BEST PUPPY: Whiskey was a son of Taxi & Dwyn. As a puppy at the start of his career he won Best In Sweepstakes and Winners Dog at the American national specialty. He won 50 group placements, the last on the weekend of his 10th birthday. | |

The Pearl Trophy Gloria Graham and Anne Gunn introduced this annual herding trophy in 2007 with the objective of encouraging herding in the Canadian Cardigan Corgi Club. The trophy is named after Gloria’s Airlie Denbigh Déjà vu (Pearl) who in 2010 became the first Cardigan to win an Advanced Title in the Canadian Kennel Club Arena Sheep. The NaBs Trophy Nancy & Bill Buckland donated the the NaBs Trophy to recognize outstanding blue merle Cardigan Welsh Corgis. It is awarded annually to a blue merle Cardigan owned or co-owned by a CCCC member in good standing. The winner will be the blue merle dog, bitch or sexually-altered Cardigan earning the highest point accumulation in the previous calendar year whether in Performance, Conformation or a combination of both. | |
